Introducing Gather Sponsorships

Congratulations to the 450 sponsored non-profits and open-source organizations who took part in the Gather Sponsorship Program! 

As of June 2022, we are no longer accepting additional applicants to the program. Stay tuned to our social channels and watch our blog for future updates on new community programs.

Our mission at Gather is to create meaningful connections and unprecedented opportunity for everyone. Millions of people are using Gather as a way to get together with their friends, families, and communities in all sorts of places and experiences. Among the people using Gather, non-profit orgs and open-source projects stand out as two communities that often align with our mission and vision of the Metaverse.

Today we're excited to announce our Gather Sponsorship Program, designed to provide support for non-profits and open-source organizations. We’ve seen firsthand how these organizations push the boundaries of Gather, bringing together people with diverse cultures, ideas, and interests who couldn't meet up before. We see sponsorships as a way to cultivate an open and inclusive Metaverse. We want to champion other communities and organizations that are using technology to positively impact society or to facilitate change for a better future.

While we’re open to all kinds of ideas, some examples of upcoming sponsorships from non-profits and open-source orgs include:

• Livestreams hosted in Gather benefiting charities and social causes
• Virtual conferences and networking Spaces connecting startups and micro businesses to investors and industry professionals
• Hackathons pushing the boundaries of technology and connecting coders to mentors
• Persistent Spaces or events supporting open-source projects, music, art, meditation, fitness, mental health, co-working, leadership, etc.

If you are part of a non-profit or open-source organization, we encourage you to apply for your Gather event or Space to be fully sponsored by Gather. There's still a long way to go in the growth and development of the best, most joyful, open Metaverse for humanity, but we're excited to move one step closer with the launch of Gather sponsorships.
